Step-by-step guide to tracking and assessing students

Mathew's tracking notebook is a tool that lets you view and analyse your students' progress in a clear and structured way. Remember that, to use it, you must have previously created an activity or a learning situation and at least one student must have completed it.

STEP BY STEP

Step 1. Wait for the activity to be completed

First, you'll need to wait for the activity to have been completed by at least one of the students. Once submitted, we recommend reviewing the results obtained, as these will be the basis of the information that will later appear in the tracking notebook.

Step 2. Review the activity status

You can check the activity status for each student. Mathew will show:

  • Each student's submission status.

  • The automatic grading generated by the platform, based on the defined criteria and, where applicable, the associated rubric.

Step 3. Access the tracking option

Once you've reviewed the activity, select the ‘Tracking’ option. This will let you access the tracking notebook, where all the assessment information is gathered centrally, grouped by classes and activities.

Step 4. Filter and analyse the information

The tracking notebook includes different filtering options that will help you analyse the results in more detail:

  • Filter by specific competences or basic competences.

  • Filter by grades.

  • View the results using colours, which makes it easy to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

These options make tracking students' progress quicker and more precise.

Step 5. Download the tracking notebook

Finally, the tracking notebook can be downloaded at any time with a single click. This lets you keep a record of the assessments, share the information or work with the data outside the platform whenever you need.

With Mathew's tracking notebook, you can carry out continuous and organised monitoring of learning, supporting pedagogical decision-making and the personalised guidance of each student.
