(EN)Chat with the chatbot: linear functions and graphs (y = 2x + 6)

Mathew's chatbot is available from any screen via a floating button in the bottom right corner. You can ask it quick questions in the small widget and, when you need more space or capabilities, switch it to full screen — where it can even generate graphs and reference your classroom content.

1. Find the chatbot's floating button

In the bottom right corner of any Mathew page there is a circular button with the Mathew robot image. It's the quick access to the small chatbot and is always available.

2. Open the small chatbot

When you click the button, a side panel opens with the Teacher Assistant. It's the compact version of the chatbot: ideal for quick questions without leaving the screen you're on.

In the header you'll see three icons: help (?), full screen (square with arrows) and close (X).

3. Ask about linear functions

Type in the message field: “Explain what linear functions are and what they are used for in mathematics”. Click the send button.

Mathew responds with a short explanation supported by your classroom content. Below the answer, the Relevant context section appears with a chip linking to the PDF funciones-lineales.

My Content: By default the chatbot searches the materials you have uploaded to the classroom. The subscript numbers (1,2) indicate the exact PDF pages that the answer cites.

4. Switch the chatbot to full screen

Click the full-screen icon (the square with arrows) in the widget's header. Mathew opens the full-screen version of the chatbot, with more space to show long answers, graphs and references.

Note: Full screen opens a new conversation separate from the widget's. You can retrieve previous conversations from the “My conversations” side panel.

5. Ask for a graph of y = 2x + 6

In full screen, type: “Explain what a linear function is and show me the graph of y = 2x + 6”. Mathew generates the explanation and, below it, a real graph with the X and Y axes, the marked points and the drawn line.

The graph is interactive: it passes through (0, 6) and (-3, 0), with a positive slope of 2. Below the answer, the funciones-lineales (pp. 4, 5, 6) chip appears again, linking to the source PDF.

What it's for: You can ask the chatbot for specific examples for your students, graphs with specific values, or variations (“and now with a negative slope”, “crossing the Y axis at 10”...). The chatbot adapts each answer to the course and subject.

6. Access the related content

Click the funciones-lineales (pp. 4, 5, 6) chip that appears below the answer. Mathew opens the classroom content viewer directly at the cited pages, so you can check the source material or share it with your students.

Full flow: Quick question in the widget → extended conversation in full screen → graph generated → direct jump to the cited material. All connected, without losing context.
